MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER

This week my mother, Joan, passed away after a long battle with congestive heart failure. She lived her last years in sunny San Diego with her twin sister, Jean. They were a great pair, dressing alike, traveling, golfing, playing bridge, shopping and always beating their kids and grandkids at Trivial Pursuit.

My mother was the original June Cleaver. She wore the shirtdress, stockings and heels to greet my father each night when she met the 6:02 at the Wilmette train station.

She was a glamorous gal who loved her family and set a marvelous example for the 6 of us kids in being spouses, parents and grandparents. I will miss you Mothe!

Our grandkids are here for Thanksgiving !

Conner is here for a few days on vacation from his school in Austin. It is great to see
how he is growing up

Last week we took Jack and Sawyer to the zoo and to ride the new train at Hermann Park

Are you ready for some football?

Last week we drove up to Austin to see Conner's last regular season flag football game against the 6th graders at St.Gabriels Middle School.
Conner is a dynamo on defense and made several good plays.

Vandy Coeds go to Washington

Last weekend I met my three roomates from Vanderbilt in the nation's capital to celebrate our (gulp!) 60th birthdays. Since we still feel 18-ish (mostly when we are with each other) it was fun to get together and see the town that George Washington built. Hilarity ensued as did frivolity and a wee bit of gluttony as we ate and drank our way from Georgetown to Foggy Bottom

Big Man on Campus

Ready to hit the road to Austin, TX for the first day of school at TSD. Conner was packed and ready to go at 6:00 A.M. We fixed his room up the way he wanted and he met the other 24 boys in his dorm and I said farewell! Just until friday though. No tears - Yay Grandmommy!

Jack and Sawyer had their own first day of school adventure up in South Bend. See the Tennesseegans for photos.

Aunt Pat visits da boys

We were delighted when Aunt Pat from Jersey came to visit while all the men and boys were here. She is very dear to us and we loved having her all to ourselves. She was even here for Sawyers 2nd Birthday party.

A good time was had by all!

Beach weekend 2010

We rented a house at Surfside for the weekend and had perfect weather for our group of 28 friends and family. 12 kids made it fun! Thanks to Mick Watson for this photo. Evan was napping during the group photo, maybe because we kept him up with late night boisterous card games.
